Background to the project:
The Board of Manaaki Tāngata Victim Support engaged Tregaskis Brown to provide advice on options for the future governance of Victim Support and to support the Board to determine the preferred way forward. This involved deep engagement with the Regional and Local Governance Committees, and their members.
The Board appreciated the engagement and believed that Tregaskis Brown's work was directly responsible for the unanimous vote for change.
They described the team as "engaged, aware, [they] listened and we would recommend Tregaskis Brown's services to others."
The case:
Tregaskis Brown conducted in-depth comparator research and engaged a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring the perspectives of Local and Regional Committee members were well-represented. We developed a comprehensive report that captured the current state, identified upcoming challenges, and presented clear, strategic options for the future—providing a strong foundation for meaningful discussions.
Our approach fostered robust dialogue, integrated diverse viewpoints, and allowed ample time for thoughtful reflection, enabling forward-thinking and effective decision-making.
We are committed to supporting the not-for-profit sector in enhancing their governance to meet future needs.

The outcomes:
One of the standout achievements of this project was the meaningful engagement with long-serving member stakeholders, accomplished through a variety of tailored stakeholder engagement approaches.
The Tregaskis Brown team had the privilege of presenting to the National Board and Regional and Local Committee members during their AGM, culminating in our facilitation of the final kōrero session with key stakeholders.
The preferred option received unanimous support from members and is now being implemented. We extend our best wishes to Victim Support as they continue their governance journey, and we are honoured to have contributed to this important milestone.
