Sue understands public service organisations, and how to organise and motivate an institution to deliver. She has developed this expertise through many years working in central and local government, including 16 years in executive leadership positions.
Sue gets what it means to be responsible for driving change in central and local government. In particular she is a source of expert advice on how environmental management systems work; from development of the legislation to implementation of the systems and decisions integral to its efficient management.
Sue is a catalyst for tough conversations and a safe pair of hands for steering challenging problems solving through to resolution. She is known for her expertise in engaging local government, community interest groups and industry in the deep thinking and problem solving associated with regulatory change.
Sue is a member of both the Institute of Directors, and the Resource Management Law Association, a past President of the NZ Association of Resource Management and was Acting Chief Executive to Heritage New Zealand for 4 months during 2016.
