Carol has been involved in helping adults learn new skills for over 20   years.  She gets a kick out of taking complex topics and making them interesting to learn.   She is a highly skilled instructional designer, course content creator as well as a facilitator.  Having had a background with new software and corporate wide rollouts she can provide expertise in planning the implementation, upskilling and change management for new processes or software. 

Telling is not learning, so Carol customises the learning solutions to ensure that the most interactive learning methods are used which leads to a transfer of training to on-the-job skills. 

Carol is an MBTI practitioner, has completed the Project Management Professional (PMP) course as well as DiSC Profiling through Fortuna International and completed a Decision Making for Leaders course at Mt Eliza Business School in Melbourne.

Recent Experience

Senior Learning and Development Manager - WSP Opus International, April 2017 – June 2018

Working as part of the People team, and in collaboration with engineering professionals across the wider WSP Group (Australia, Canada, UK), Carol's role was to lead a variety of OD projects and Learning and Development activities. Including:

  • Taking the lead on the LMS (Moodle) rollout, Position Titles Framework project, Capabilities Database, implementing a new learning and development programme for graduates
  • Designing and implementing a new bullying and harassment prevention programme
  • Designing, implementing and facilitating management development/learning programmes, using 70:20:10 model as a basis for all development
  • Developing initiatives, tools and resources that embed WSP Opus’ desired behaviours and culture (DiSC profiling)
  • Provided advice and project management know-how for on line learning modules
  • Lead the implementation of large scale learning programme with the provision of expert advice on how to make the most of the LMS, problem solving, and system configuration, maintenance of the system and troubleshooting.
