Rhys Jones - Awarded the French Legion of Honour
Our congratulations to Consulting Partner Rhys Jones who has been awarded the ‘Commander of the Legion of Honour’ for his work in enhancing the relationship between the New Zealand and French militaries, particularly in the Pacific, during his last 10 years in the military.
Rhys was presented the Legion of Honour by the French Ambassador Florence Jenblanc-Risler on board the French ship Entrecasteaux on 24 April, during her visit to New Zealand for Anzac Day.
The Legion of Honour was established by Napoleon in 1803 and is the highest decoration in France. There are five levels of seniority of the order, the ‘Commander’ being the third level. Only 6 other New Zealanders have ever received the award of Commander.
